How To Shorten Your Isolation Period For Covid-19?

Since Covid-19 has popped out worldwide, the two most common phrases regarding this pandemic have been Self-isolation and Self-quarantine. Yet both are different from each other. The quarantine restricts lifestyle that can affect a person during the infection of Covid-19. On the other hand, one must go for self-isolation if he/she has tested positive for Covid-19. In general, a person needs to be isolated at least for 10-14 days after getting tested positive. But certain practices can shorten the period of isolation when a person is a Covid positive. A same-day PCR test is required on the very first day. In that test, if a person becomes positive, he/she must be isolated at least for 5 days (after shortening the isolation period) by following certain healthy practices.

•Stay home-

Going in self-isolation and staying at home is more likely synonymous when someone tests positive for Covid-19. Self-isolation itself indicates being restricted from others. The very first thing that is done to strictly follow after getting a positive Covid-19 test report is to stay home, rather more specifically, staying in a single room which will not be accessible to the others in a family.

•Monitoring the symptoms-

If someone wants to shorten his/her isolation period, he/she must watch the symptoms routinely. If the symptoms are fading away day by day, that means the patient is recovering from the infection, and soon he/she will be able to finish the self-isolation period. Contrarily, if the symptoms remain the same or become more severe, the treatment should be accordingly so that the patient gets recovered soon and finish the isolation period.

•Proper diet and medication-

None can shorten the self-isolation period without the proper diet plan and the right medication. A patient has to strictly have all the medicines that are prescribed by the doctor, followed by a healthy daily diet chart.

•Taking adequate rest-

An adequate amount of rest is necessary for a Covid patient to get recovered as early as possible. Sound sleep and complete bed rest are required strictly to get rid of the sickness.

•Get tested-

If a patient thinks that his/her symptoms are recovering and wants to finish the self-isolation period before 14 days, he/she must get tested once again in order to confirm whether he/she is fully recovered from the infection or not.

You can finish your isolation period if you are fever-free for 24 hours (without using any of the fever-reducing medicines) and of course if your symptoms are improving. But you have to be isolated at least for 5 days after receiving your positive same-day PCR test report.
